AKRAM MIKNAS. Chairman, MCN (Middle East Communications Network)

American University of Beirut business graduate. Founder of MCN. Visionary. Considered as the doyen of advertising in MENA. Founded Fortune Promoseven in Beirut in 1968, and helped grow the agency into a well known network over the years.Today, he has diversified business interests including hospitality and real estate development. Devoted and doting father of two sons.

 

GHASSAN HARFOUCHE. CEO, MCN (Middle East Communications Network)

Harfouche moves from Choueiri Group to MCN in May 2011. At Choueiri he spent the last 13 years successfully as the Managing Director establishing and growing MEMS. Harfouche began his career in sales and marketing in Lebanon and soon after, relocated to Jeddah, joining the renowned De Beers Diamond Group as Trade Marketing Director, entrusted with developing the Group’s business activities across the GCC region. He has a Masters Degree in Economics from St. Joseph University Beirut and an Executive MBA from London Business School. Additionally, he has served as a Professor teaching media economics at AUD.

Harfouche’s role as MCN Group CEO will be highly strategic on the group level to leverage the full power of being the leading communications group. He will be leading the process of developing and driving the vision for the future of MCN, identifying new growth opportunities in the region, connecting the dots to maximize integration between the operating companies and between MCN and IPG/McCANN WORLDGROUP and lead MCN towards the next level in terms of innovation, professionalism, creativity, talent, knowledge leadership and of course performance.

MOHAMAD HAIDAR. Chief Financial Officer, MCN (Middle East Communications Network)

Lebanese American University grad in Business & Computing. CFM, CMA. The Analyser. Time with Promoseven: 5 years. Astute. Maintains fine balance between IQ and EQ. Favourite pastime: crunching numbers. Believes he is a photographer. Likes scuba diving, fancy cars, family. Mantra: cash flow.

Haidar unashamedly is against the norm of typical CFO. Liked by all across the region, Haidar is known to possess patience, a pragmatic approach and a pleasing personality – all rolled into one.


TAREK MIKNAS. CEO, FP7 Group

Half Lebanese, half Turkish, nationalized Bahraini, Tarek Miknas is a citizen first of the global order of Advertising. Born into the family that launched the FP7 brand, Tarek gained his degree in commmunications in the US and subsequently worked in New York with McCann Ericson to get his feet wet.

Moving back to the region in 2003, he joined FP7 Dubai and ran the Coke account for Lebanon, UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain. In 2006, he left FP7 to help launch Lowe for the MCN group.

The young Lowe team was able to carve out a unique, relevant space in the market winning 9 Lynx Awards within the first 11 months of operation.As Chief Growth Officer at Lowe, Miknas helped grow the business from 4 people sitting on beanbags to 96 at its peak within four years, and even expanded into 4 new markets including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Morocco within that time frame.

Most recently, on September 26th, 2010, Tarek was selected, through a lengthy process led by an independent consultancy firm, to head up the Fortune Promoseven Network as CEO for the Middle East and North Africa. "It’s a challenge I look forward to with absolute enthusiasm and optimism" Miknas said on his facebook page, the day he was appointed top gun at Promoseven.
